Montréal, February 17, 2020 – On Thursday, February 13, the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) and Bombardier Transportation in Montreal reached a tentative agreement to renew the collective agreement for some 200 workers.

The agreement would apply to the locomotive engineers, conductors and shop staff who keep passenger trains running in Montreal.

Details of the tentative agreement will not be released until the members have been given the opportunity to review the document first. Union meetings will be held with members over the coming weeks to explain the terms of the agreement and answer any questions.

The union’s bargaining committee is recommending that members vote to ratify the agreement.

Teamsters represent close to 125,000 workers in Canada in all industries, including over 16,000 in the rail sector. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with which Teamsters Canada is affiliated, has 1.4 million members in North America.
